Day 81: San Diego-Mexico-San Diego

November 15, 2015Tomaz Humar

I crossed the border because I wanted to go to the pharmacy in Mexico and because it’s a bit exciting, literally stepped with the fingers and nose in Mexico and then head back. I waited 3 hours at the border. Couldn’t afford that because day is too short, head back towards San Diego, got punctured tire 1 hour before and realised I won’t be able to fulfill my daily goal. I had done just 90 km, punctured my tire and 1 hour to dark. Did a service on bike and meanwhile I cycled on a rented bike. Then hopped on my bicycle and refused to surrender, cycled 40 km for two hours in the dark to define and win. There is no other feeling like this one. Jacuzzi and a short sleep. Next day heading back to L.A. to catch a flight to New Zealand. Good day!
