After a 12hour drive I finally came to the border. I had almost no sleep, was just too nervous. When I came to the border it started raining, heavily. My mind was all over the place, but I still felt in control. The border opened at 6am, at 6.10 I walked into the immigration office. The atmosphere there was like they were competing who can look more uptight. Once I started talking and explaining my situation they just smiled and said: Mr. Humar you big problem. They sent me back to the Malaysian border so the authorities there would deal with me. Of course when I came to the Malaysians they said that’s not their problem, and that I am under the responsibility of Thailand authorities. So I returned to the Thailand border, feeling like it’s all going down. They took me to their office and started asking a bunch of questions: So where have you been Mr. Humar, what have you been doing, etc.
Thank god the guy who was asking me all this questions was not in charge, because I would go straight to jail if he had something to do with it. After a couple hours another man came, he was obviously the man in charge.
My family managed to get in touch with honorary consul of Slovenia in Thailand, Ms. Phatra Putipanpong. That kind lady managed to call the officials, explained what’s going on, and persuaded them not to detain me. So when “the boss” came he said: Mr. Humar today you very lucky! He signed the papers, put the stamp in my passport and let me free. WHAT A RELIEF! I left the Thai immigration office, and again entered Malaysia. With this problem behind me I had to focus on my most important thing of the day: reaching my daily goal. It was already 10am, I had almost no sleep and 140 kilometers were waiting to be cycled. I refused to stop, refused to rest, so I went. After 40 kilometers my tire was flat again. It was very hot, the ants were attacking me while I was thinking what to do. I cycled 10 kilometers with a flat tire to the first city. A local guy helped me a lot, he showed me the way to the bicycle shop, hotel and food store. After fixing the tire, eating and taking a shower I collapsed in my bed. In need of some rest, tomorrow is a new day. Good day!
