After a quite good night I had some cookies for breakfast, then I went my way. The “hotel” staff was rude, nothing new in India. I started cycling around 9am, right away I was caught in heavy traffic. When I reached the national highway it got better. Had wind in my chest all day. Spent 8 hours on the bike, approx. 2 hours riding uphill. Along the way I had an encounter with a motorcyclist. He drove next to me, started asking me bunch of stupid questions, and since I didn’t respond he started yelling and became aggressive. I still pretended like he’s not there. Crushed my focus for a bit, when he drove away I carried on.
When I reached my daily goal of 140 kilometers I noticed, there are still 40 kilometers till the nearest town. Cause it was getting dark, I needed to find a place to stay the night. Just before the dark I found a “hotel” where they didn’t want to accept me. I don’t understand why this is happening to me in India, is it a matter of religion, I don’t know…When I came back outside I noticed my headlight on the bike is missing. Great! Not only I had no place to sleep, I had no light to continue cycling as well. Later on I found an abandoned house. I had no choice but to sleep there. When I entered a crowd of people followed me, started talking something, they wanted to take some pictures and shake my hand. Only one of them was speaking english so I explained to him what I am doing. Now I am in my bed=floor, I ate some rice and eggs for dinner, but nearly not enough, still hungry.
I have to plan things better from now on. Need to rest now. I hope all the food that I ate was OK, don’t want any stomach problems. Good day.
